Our Bike Camp is fun! Middle schoolers (starting 7th and 8th grades in the 2024/2025 school year) participants will boost their confidence by exploring local bike routes and practicing bike mechanic skills. Camp includes a bike tour of Old Sacramento and the Sacramento Bike Kitchen. Additionally, students will even learn how to load their bike on a city bus!

Bikes, helmets, snacks and lunch provided.

The camp is staffed by League Certified Bicycling Instructors.

There are 3 sessions: 

  • Session 1: June 3 -7
  • Session 2: June 10 - 14 (waitlist only)
  • Session 3: June 24 - 28

Monday through Friday, 8:30 am- 3:30 pm

Deanna Yee:

Deanna is a certificated teacher, Project Ride Smart instructor, and former Walk to School volunteer. She uses current California safety standards to lead groups of students and adults around the streets of Natomas. She loves watching students get excited about bicycling and looks forward to leading our 2024 Bike Camp!

Pierson Rohr:

Pierson is a Bike Doc mechanic, Project Ride Smart instructor, and counselor at last summer’s Bike Camp. He built bikes while growing up and leads community rides throughout Sacramento. He demonstrates that bike culture opens the door to a world of civic enrichment, community building, and exploring the world around us.

Becky Garrow:

Becky, an enthusiastic Project Ride Smart instructor, public health research consultant, and owner of Sacramento Bike Tours, previously served on the City of Sacramento Active Transportation Commission, was President of the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates, and co-founded the California Department of Public Health BikeShare. Her proudest achievement? Being depicted as Loteria card - La Cyclista!
