Trip Scanner FAQs

Do I have to register?
Yes. In order to participate, your student’s card must be registered.

What are “Boot Bucks”?
Boot Bucks are a virtual currency that participating students earn when they walk, bike or skate to school.  1 Scan = 1 Boot Buck.  Students use their Boot Bucks to earn prizes and parties.  A Boot Bucks store will be set up on campus twice a year for students to redeem their Boot Bucks for prizes.

What information is collected?
When a registered student scans in, the system gathers student’s first name and last initial, teacher name/classroom, grade level, and round-trip distance to and from school. None of this information is linked to the student’s full name or can be seen by anyone publicly.

Who will have access to my child’s information?
The information we compile is for statistical purposes only. Parents and guardians must provide cell phone and email addresses to register. Other than our third party service providers (such as our hosting service), no information is ever shared.

How will caregivers get a text when their student has scanned-in at school?
You can choose to get notifications and we will text you when your child has been scanned in. Simply sign up and choose your preferred communication method when filling out the registration form.

Is there a charge for this program?
No. This program is sponsored by North Natomas Jibe as a way to encourage families to make fewer trips by car.
